I paint airplanes and spacecraft because they represent how far humanity has come when it comes to exploration. First we set sail on a long journey to find new land, and then we looked up and reached for the skies until we found ourselves looking down on the Earth from the moon. Yet, the technology itself carries no feelings. I am not mocked by a face or a hand every time I pick up a brush to paint an engine or a winglet, and I think that's what compels me to keep creating works based on what is essentially a collection of metals and wires that happens to fly.
